Project Zer08 is the creative and versatile output of producers Ali Achorah and Ren van den Berg. The sound is built up of pounding programmed drums, big dirty bass and heavy guitars. All topped of by a blend of Ali's vocals reminiscent of 80s metal, and Ren's harsh germanic vocal style.
No rules, just simple guidelines such as 'There is no such thing as too much distortion' result in music that is described by the people as brilliant, epic and not right in the head.
The first self titled album which saw the birth of the act was meant to test the music industry and find out how realistic it really is to record and release an album from your living room without any help from record labels. With a zero budget and 8 months to do it, the first album was released as a free download at the end of december 2008.
The Songs Maxsimise and Disappear both charted high at Soundclick.com
The concept of the second album 'nuclear power' was quickly created before the release of the first album. Taking a departure from the heavy artistic concept of the first, the second album will be heavier and move at a faster pace, featuring Ali Schorah for the first time on guitar and vocals.
The album deals with anger and looks at life from a different angle compared to 'Project Zer08' and is filled with strong socio-political subtext.
The track 'Before she runs Away' won a Platinum Auddy award.
The anticipated album will be an international release, much larger than the first self-titled album.
